Morning all

I connected Conzult up to my car last night (thanks Richard!) and immediatly saw that my coolant temp was running at 98 C and when the car was stationary it went up to 102 C. EEEK! There are no symptoms eg. steam, overflowing etc. The level is correct and was flushed/refilled just before the summer.

1. Could it be the temp sensor that is shot and sending the wrong signals to the ECU?

2. Anythingto do the thermostat perhaps?

PS. Got a OEM rad.

Thanks

Andrew

Gonna check that resistance of the temp sensors tonight to rule them out.

Did you have the air con on at the time as that can up the temperature by something like 10 degrees, you are looking for about 85 degrees ideally. The thermostat should open at about 76 degrees, most that I have seen fail when closed and cause the engine to overheat, shame they are such a pain to replace or I would suggest that first.

Nope, no aircon running. Not even the radio and that silly speaker in the back! I'll look into the thermostat this evening.

Cheers
