Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has one and if they're any good? I mean the ones that you add water to :)

Cheers

Why bother when Homebase are selling air conditioners from £150 at the moment?

Go for the real deal at that price.

I remember having one at my old office, it worked OK providing the ambient temp was below 30 deg. Also t got through a surprisingly large amount of water and when it ran empty just blew out air hotter than it took in.

Richard :)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO those water ones are SSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH11111111111111TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!

My bedroom rose in temperature with it in there, lol.

Get a proper air con unit. Got one in the living room and they are great!!!

Don't waste you time on an evaporator, you'll be disappointed, get a real A/C unit.

Beware though, the single unit ones are often noisy in a home setting, as they are often designed for offices with much higher background noise, so go unnoticed, but at home you might find that they are too noisy to leave on in an occupied room, and too noisy to leave on at night. The split units are much better as the noise compressor leves outside.

I know having bought one last year from B&Q, cools really well.

i have a unit next to my bed cost me £200

TBH, it is too noisy, and I would happily spend the £500 on a split unit if i could route the pipes in correctly.

BTW typical Brit, 3 days of hot weather and mad rush for aircon ;)

but aircon is nice, i often put mine on in the winter because I like the freshness, and whatever you get clean it every 6 months with a car air con cleaning spray, or it could make you ill.
