I`m kinda new to the whole torrent scene, I used to use Kazaa light but the was a couple of years ago now.

I'm using Bitcomet at the moment and am getting an average download speed of 29 KB/s and the highest I have seen it at is 61 KB/s. This is on a 2MB (nominal) link.

Does this seem ok?

I have fiddled with a few settings and it seems to have made some improvement ie the amount of half-open connections and the amount of upload b/w etc.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Seems ok yes, all depends on how popular the torrent is. The latest tv shows the day after airing will usually max out a connection.

Bitcomet is a bit oldskool now though tbh, uTorrent is the flavour of the day, smaller, faster, easier to configure/use, and the RSS extension stands to be very good, i've never managed to make it work though.

I have a 2mb line with 256k upstream and after much experimentation have found the optimal upstream speed to be 17kb/s.

**** shit *****cks **** ******* :x: .............sorry I thought you said tourettes

I sometimes max my connection at 1.2mb per sec but on average get about 400kb on my ntl 4mb connection, if you have a 2mb connection your upload should be set to about 35kb as in the uk we have great download but crap upload with our providers. hope this helps.

if you have a firewall/router check your NAT, I use Azureus and one of the ports 16889 or something like that needs to be open and passed through otherwise I never get more than a 50K Download.

Limit your upload to 18Kb Max on a 2MB link, and you should be pulling down 250K Constantly, like me :)

Depends on torrent seeding etc but your speeds should be higher than what you specified

http://www.mininova.org is a fairly good un for music/software etc

go here buddy,

http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm

you can choose your router and it will tell you step by step how to set it up for azureus, with is the best imho of course.

i have a 1mb line and my downloads are always at 130KBS, and you should be getting this if you have set up your client properly
