not like this hot weather??

on a normal day when its cool.... its perfect..

these last couple of days, it over revs, turbo's make a funny whistling noise... (when i'm flooring it) and it just doesn't seem to have loads of power...

URGH - I'm moving to Iceland!!!

imagine the fun on the ice

Thankfully my zed has been fine in the hot weather. And last sunday when i was crawling out of Fairford airshow it didnt overheat :)

Thing is though that i have never seen the temp needle go above half.

sounds like you may have a vacumn leak

I have this vision of hunnipie looking around her hoover listening for a leak now pmsl

hoover - whats that!!! LOL

Mines fine. As soon as its Lamdas get to working temp, sorted

Mine just feels as flat as a fart when it's this hot. Doesn't boost particularly well. Time for an FMIC maybe.

Turbo cars don't work well in hot weather. The air is too dense.

Less dense you mean! ;)

Is that what I mean to say? Ooops.

tbh...you should'nt be experiecing problems on a relatively stock car in this heat with the right fuel...yeh its hot, but most zeds run in this heat everyday in other counties.

Turbocharged cars with engine top mounted intercoolers suffer more.

  i dont want anymore problems!!

alrighty, so how can i check for this leaky thing? anyone know!?

Yeah, mine seems fine in the heat.

Even if there is a slight reduction in power, it is more than made up for by the amount of grip you get on a hot day...

Mine's been fine in the hot weather too.

That said, I can't argue with the physics that says power will have dropped- in the way I use my car it's simply not noticable.

If it's the stock one you'll see steam pouring out of the bonnet before that     ing thing moves (Well that's what happened to me :nelson: )

Course they'll run all day long in these temperatures. But noticeably slower even if you are using a high octane fuel. You're reducing one of the key elements of combustion. It's like leaning off the fuel. The ECU can only retard/advance the timing to stop it pinking, it can introduce more air.

My car is running less boost at the moment. Not boosting to Max on the gauge and does feel slower at the moment.

yeah thats what im getting with mine at the mo, boost is normally 14/15 psi at the mo its now 12/13, dont you love heat soak and high ambient temps.Decided to go for bigger side mounts and a bigger radiator and the nismo thermostat over the winter ready for next summer.

Looking at putting them on mine once I've had a Mr Dixon chip fitted. You had yours RR'd?

not yet, i had a andy p chip fitted, borrowed a mates wide band fueling checker and its slightly rich at full WOT but im happy with that

yeah cause its slightly rich im thinking about advancing the base timing to 16/17 as it makes it more responsive but slightly cacking myself at the thought at what can go wrong. The other switch side is leave as is for that extra margin of safety and continue with sensible engine mods like the z1 side mounts first.

I'd leave it as it is. You have a buffer of safety there if you think about it in that way. If you advance the timing so that it's fueling spot on...you loose that safety margain and should anything fail at the critical point...it'll be bye bye...but I'm sure you know all this.

yeah , thats why im leaning to the sensible mods way, but you always have this thought in your head "what if " lol, like " what if the missus finds out how much ive spent on this mod "
