It always starts the second or third time with help of pressing the gas pedal, what should I check first, any ideas?

The best way I can describe it, it feels like the air filter is blocked, or it's coughing up first two times untli it starts, almost like a lazy fuel pump....

change fuel filter, check fuel line pressure, check and change plugs if necessary, make sure each one is getting a spark, air filter, all the basics really, battery load test.

if that fails - remove the battery clamps and clean inside the collar of them and clean the terminals, my mates done that and it was just a bad earth.

if its slow turnover .. it could possibly be your earth lead to engine block or maybe a dying cell in the battery .. easiest way to check the battery is connect a digivolt meter to it .. turn the car over and if you have a voltage of less than 9v then the battery is probably on its way out ... to cheack the earthlead .. do the same as above note the voltage .. then move the negative wire from the voltmeter to an earth point on the engine and note the voltage when u turn it over .. if there is a volt or so difference then u have a faulty earth lead
