Just had someone look at the zed. We went for a test drive, talked through the mods and receipts and all that, then pulled it apart and did a compression test which came out 150 on all six ( after checking with two different compression testers because it showed it as being 130 odd to start with in number one cylinder but was the same as the others with the other tester). Anyhows as expected he really liked it and has left a deposit, and is going to pick it up in the next few days or so. I knew I'd be a little sad but TBH I feel absolutly gutted now. I hope I'm doing the right thing as its been the best car I've ever had and never gave me any problems. If I had more money knocking around I'd keep the Zed as well but I've got no slush fund in case of problems with the Rx7 and also need to buy something practical that can tow. I feel really sad   I think its gone to a good owner though (already a member on here but I'll leave it for him to let you all know about it). I knocked some cash off to sort the bits that need doing so I'm basically getting what I paid for it almost exactly one year ago. I have spent over £2500 on it though fitting the skyline brake system and regular new tyres and all but its been worth all the money I've spent as I've had a great experience with it. I'm sure it will do the same for its new owner.

Very sad, Dave

Dave, Sorry to you go, but the RX7 is your baby now.

Hope you have as much fun with that as you did with the Zed.

best wishes

All the best mate, make sure you still keep coming to the meets i didn't have the pleasure of meeting you at the pod last time :D

Sad day,

But..........

Maybe we can all get rich quick starting a business called cars re-united that re-unites wistfull owners to their former vehicles :) (shit that could work tm Mines Twinturbo!!!!!!)

I have spent 4k on mine so far and know it is still only worth at best 1k more than all the dogs out there..........

But as you say we are driving 40k cars and we make em able to kick the ass of £70k cars so it is still cost effective and you also got to be a part of a fine cars history.

I have modified everything I have had from My hyper modified 9.5hp FS1E at 16 (yes that is some story) to my Z (even sneaking bits onto my missus RX8) just to be different.

Don't leave the fold

Chris

Unlucky Royal, glad to hear that you will still come on this forum. Hopefully see you again soon.

Well done Rodders you've got yourself a peach there...

Cheers guys, I'm not going anywhere anyhow! If anything I like the 300 even more now. Until looking at other cars I just liked the 300 and didn't care about others. Now that I've drove some others I really appreciate how good a drivers car the 300 is. I really think the Zed has been unfairly overshadowed by the Skyline and similar car, and also the fact that the cheap ones have so many problems now with age. Its good in some ways though because there's absolutely nothing that compares to a good zed in the 5 to 8k price range. Maybe an R32 skyline but they just dont look as good as the zed, and you couldn't get a highly modded r32 for anything less than 8k or more.
