I was bored and I washed my car yesterday after work so today I cleaned all the rubber trims and polished my tailpipes.

This like a before and after shot. I did one side and left the other.

Makes a huge difference.

WOW Stu, the left pipe looks great- all 4 of mine look like the right-hand pipe.

How did you get them so shiny? I've tried to polish the carbon deposits off with no joy.

Dave

Shame it's not a Corsa you drive else that'd be a 30bhp upgrade!

Lots of stuff called Solvol Autosol. Its a metal polish. You can get it from Halfords.

I did need a lot of it cos the dirt was so thick.

An old, (or a cheap new) tooth brush helped too.

Gonna do the others tomorrow.

It makes the back end of the car a lot more clean.

Stuart.

Jeez i read the subject heading and feared the worst - Thought you were gonna tell us you were walking with a spring in your step again LMFAO redface.gif)

next thing to do when you get a minuite is clean the towhook and foglight then!!!!!

I find aquafresh flex and direct doesnt cut the mustard, so yes, heed stus advice, an old toothbruth, or a cheap new one, dont buy a good new one! they may be good for your teeth, but not cleaning tailpipes, oh no! however, braun plaque remover does work wonders, is also good for the throttle bodies!

hehehe, looking good!

btw, i always thought clean tailpipes increased torque, not power, dont forget the better Cd.

bye bye

Nice job mate but I can't help thinking how incredibly sad we all are for discussing it!

LOL

Don't tell any of your friends...

I felt sad doing it. I had washed my car, polished the windows, put rubber treatment on the rubber to make it all back, and the windows seals too.

I had nothing to so then I noticed my pipes. The rest of the street was washing thier cars and I was polishing my Zorst. Hehehehe. Sad init.

Stuart

Oh my god!

We're turning into exhaust polishers!

I thought that was the preserver of the concouse boys at Classic Car shows.

Tim biggrin.gif -----------> Running very fast in opposite direction!

You cleaned your pipes eh? So now more baccy will fit - also the benefits of a smoother taste biggrin.gif Hows the slippers and whippet coming along? biggrin.gif

Try T-Cut, works a treat on mine.

Okay, if you have the standard Zed zorst the trim pieces are removable (small screw on the bottom) they are also stainless to use a bench buffer and some cutting rouge and they come up like new.

Bugger! Just admitted to polishing the end of my exhaust!!!

lol
