car now runs but its as if its only on 5 cylinders soon as the turbos come in it runs fine.this is intermitant 1 min its ok the next its missing ,i have changed the ptu and to be honest it does seem better anything else i can check?

Are you sure it's 1 cylinder down? Usual things to check are disconnecting and reconnecting spark plugs and injectors- the engine note should drop and probably get rougher each time you remove a good connection. When you remove the bad connection, there'll be no difference.

Other than that, there's a whole host of things it might be (just one of the joys of our car) such as vacuum/boost leaks, O2 sensors and timing.

I had what sounds like a very similar problem- it turned out to be the timing. Some days it would be fine, but others it might feel underpowered and others it was really rough, kangerooing all the time. But things would always smooth out under hard acceleration.

its only on accelerating ,tickover is fine, and no errors came up when we checked at zworld ,i duno been fine for like a week since i had it back and now this ,could be connectors il try them ,thanks

While you're there and if it hasn't been done already, it's a good idea to clean every connector you can find in the engine bay. A right pain in the bum, but slightly iffy connections can cause weird symptoms and it's worth doing anyway.

check the coilpack connectors, they only have to loosen slightly and you'll get a missfire ;)

I have a loose coil connector that caused the det sensor to set off and put me in safety , superglued it tight no more probs, well untill i need to take it off again that is...lol
