£2.5k max for a TT? So you're looking for a pile of shit then. There is no single turbo version. You'll get a reasonable normally aspirated one for £2.5k.

Welcome anyway.

Hello and welcome

Try looking in the Cars for sale section of the forum to get an idea of what's on offer. Best advice buy from a forum member as we look after our Zeds.

Hello and welcome

look at some zeds that members on here are selling bud. you will get one on ebay for £2.5k but like Si said it will be crap and you will end up spending double or triple your money putting it right and regret getting a zed. take your time and find out all there is to know about buying a zed. welcome mate

lol, was thinking the same

The cars on this forum are about as good as you'll get, you'll be looking between 3500 to 4500 for a good condition twin tubby matey.

Welcome to the forum :D

Really good manual TTs I'd say go got £4k to £5.5k dependant apon condition. Autos take quite a bite into the price.

Look in the cars for sale there might be a nice n/a auto that could come at about that price ;)

Non turbo cars are not as quick but worth looking at.

  TBH you're spot on (No offence ForZie :duffer: )

I bought mine for £4500, and I think I'm up to about £9k now, and I don't even have any real power mods either!! I'm not saying that mine was a pile of crap, far from it, most of that is just money I WANTED to spend on it (although my autobox going wasn't planned ;) ) BTW, mine was just a standard Jspec auto TT when I got her.

ForZie, as mentioned, try to come down to JAE in two weeks time, and talk to the guys 'n gals from here, and ask whatever you like, as I'm sure I can talk for most on here, we LIKE talking about our cars :D

The single turbo is the Z31 which runs up to about 88-89. From 89 onwards it's the Z32 which is a very different car (the one we all have) and is twin torbo or no turbos (NA ).

Without trying to give you the wrong impression but have you looked at the alternatives mate? you might get an NA fro 2.5k and if you are lucky it wont need money spent on it but the running costs are still very heavy. You're looking at a grand a year in tyres alone (2 sets rears 1 set fronts). Most zeds that go for under 3-4k need some serious cash to make them drive like they should (obviously you could drive it like a shed but theres no point then).

How about a 200sx? you can get a very good modded 200sx for the price you have and they are much easier to run.

Not trying to put you off, just give you a realistic view on owning them. They are very cheap (comparably) to similar power cars (skyline, supra, etc) but are no cheaper to run. Running is the bulk of the cost.

Welcome to the club by the way!! lots of friendly people here who can give you a better idea of what the cars are like to run.

Dave

Just to dissagree with the rest of em , you can get a bargain if you look hard enough.

Mine cost £2900 and no problems yet ( dear god dont jinx me ) after 7 months of running and upgrading ( i lie, one thing has now happened and that is sticky pcv valves, which aint a world killer), as royal says its the day to day running costs that mount up.

Hi mate,

Welcome to the club. If you look long enough I am sure you will find what you are looking for.

Pay no attention to the abrupt nature of some of the comments, its because we all know eachother and get on so well. Some of the members just forget that newbies need to be welcomed and given time to adjust. Stick with us... we are a great bunch of guys and galls really.

Si does like to "say it as it is" But as I said "Ditto" the truth is sometimes harder to handle and at the end of the day thats what he got.....The truth?

These cars are better and faster than most ferrari's and porche's especially of the day so by getting the true facts we have in turn done the bloke a favour.

My advice to him is get 4K together and buy a decent one. but I spose even then its a lottry as it is with most older cars.

Fully agree Vini, at the end of the day if all he can aford is £2.5k for a zed, then he isnt going to be able to afford to fix it when it goes wrong (and at that price it probably will), so he'd either best save some more up and buy a decent one, or buy something else less costly.
