I have just received an e-mail saying that there have been complaints about my username, this is a nickname that I have had for many years and I have never come across a single person that was offended by it!

 

To clarify the reason for this, my name is Andrew Peacock (hello) which if shortened to Drew, which many people do, becomes Drew Peacock....see! The pimp part was added somewhere along the lines and has nothing to do with my profession, I'm actually a financial adviser.

 

I was just surprised to see this e-mail and to be honest I resent having to change.....opinions please!

While it does'nt personally offend me and I find it quite comical....I agree completely with Vini and his points are very valid.

 

The origin of the username may well be made up from your own name, but there is no denying the way its spelling is adapted is to form a less innocent meaning.

 

My daughter will also sit by me and look at the forum with me, it might not be the cbeebies website but it is not and should not be restriced to adult audiences. The Club AUP enforces this.

 

Its easy to avoid certain threads when needs be..its not easy to avoid others usernames.

 

Thanks for seeing it the same way as I did. I didnt want the bloke hung drawn and quartered. I can see the funny side but experianced a different angle from a kids point of view and thought it was woirth a mention.

A lot of what is on this forum is not for the consumption of kids.. Why should any of us have to moderate to cater for an audience that the site was never intended for?

i dont find it offensive at all .. infact it had me in histerics .. but at the end of the day its a website that can be viewed by how ever many and i dare say someone would find it offensive .. but .. if you payed the £20 subscription fee that might help lol

i find it out of context with a car club and find it more offensive that we,ve all been told we cant air our views about traders giving us one up the rear because its not shining a good light on the club but its ok to have sex derived names :nono: its like the morons who have **** shirts on just for the shock factor (you know who you are) vinnys spot on and ime as mad and deranged in the head as the rest of em but limpyspottyrottondick get real dude and save that sort of shiit for the underside of school desks :)

Right can we now start a campaign agaiinst French Connection for their **** logo?

Just for the record it was NOT Vin that made the original complaint his was a couple of weeks later.
