Can you get a house advertised on http://www.rightmove.co.uk without an estate agent?

They seem to charge a lot and not do much!

Balls - I thought they might be.

Ah well, just a few more £K down the drain....

My parents sold two houses easily and quickly without an estate agent. Put an add in the local paper that did property. But that was before the internet. I wonder if people are prepared to dig through a newspaper when there is rightmove. Btw rightmoves location based search really pisses me off, totaly inaccurate.

Yeah I have done it and it was as easy as piss. My Missus went to town and spent £6 getting a board made. It said House for sale - 4 beds and our phone number view by appointment.

We undercut the selling price of the three others that were for sale in the street by £500 and we sold it in 48 hours.

If you have other houses for sale in your street it is a no brainer to sell yourself as anyone viewing the others will clock your sign.

Also if your house is in a street that gets lots of passing purchasers sell it yourself.

You only need an agent if it is proving difficult to sell or is in some out-of-the-way place or is unusual and not obvious from the street.

It is as simple as selling a car........

I've used these in the past to look at what others have for sale, and would be tempted to used this sort of firm to sell. Its worth a try and might save 1,000s

There was another firm but I've lost the link

Tell me about it. The ones I'm dealing with are really eager if they want something from you, but try to get them to do something... grr.

Also agree with that. (You might remember my rant from a couple of weeks ago.) Only way to get sensible results is to search over a much larger area than you're interested in, then everything added in the last 24 hours to make the search results manageable.
