Another great day out and a good Zed turnout (approx 25) - weather was feckin' hot as well :duffer: . Great to meet old and new faces and finally get to see Manta's V8 beast.

Thanks to Tizer for the heads up about the rain at Doncaster - a few Targa panels were re-fitted by the Northern lads

Well done to Steve300ZX for your prize - another one for the collection

Cheers Jason,

She was a winner in the best Japanese Sports Car/Coupe Class, so well chuffed. That's 4 trophies inside a year. Not bad!!!

Aye well done Steve

That scooby was in Castleford(West Yorkshire) on saturday.Never seen it before must be a fresh import. Will try and catch up with him and let you know.

Great Day

Nice to meet a few people

I look a right prat this morning with a Tommy Tomato Head

:o

Good to see you all again :)

Well done Steve, shame I couldn't hang around to see you win but my daughter wasn't feeling well and it was far too hot for us.

Wasn't fun driving back burning my hand on a red hot solid metal gear knob, took about 20 minutes of aircon before I could touch it

One question,

Where did they find that muppet doing the commentary over the tannoy?

"Do you take it to Tesco's?"

"This modified category is for you if you've got go-faster stripes or perhaps fitted side skirts or something"

"I like the blue pipes and the chrome bits, did you do that or is it standard?"

"The pride of ownership category is for you if you've maybe had the car 20 or 30 years and it's your pride and joy. You don't have to have spent £100,000 on your car but if you have it's OK"

 :xxx:

That bloke has been doing the show for years

when it started it was mainly ford and they would get a few

Jap Classics Datsuns and such :o

But the Jap side of things has grown massive over the last couple of years

and its a bit beyond his little club scene he is used to

My Favourite of the day was

"If you have one of those large Hi Fi units fitted can you turn it down Please"

Still think he is worth having just for entertainment value

I was going to say I think he may put some people off but

there were more than ever this year

I used to have one like that

Back in the 80's it was a bit of early teenage competition with your mates seeing who had the biggest :o :x:

I was there and managed to meet up with some familiar faces from the Mids meets....

As for the rest of you, the only person who I could clearly identify was BeeGeeVinz (don't ask me how - ha ha ha)

I thought I might have stood out as I was lugging my tripod around filming your zeds over and over!

Anyway, got some great footage and I will put something together tonight.

Still is isn't it :x:

The whole Jap part of the show was a joke. The MC bloke had no idea of what was going on most of the time.

I spent a fair bit of time on the Ford site and the MC there was really slick. The whole thing was a lot better organised with categories for every type of Ford. Only two or three entries in some classes but he really did it well. Plus it was a shady area and a lot cooler.

Don't back mate, just say how you feel! :x:

At least most of us humble Jap owners enjoyed ourselves and made the most of it.

I quite enjoyed the fact the MC was a numpty and he brought a smile to my face with his ramblings....

We are a club, lets get into the spirit of things!

This was the fifth year that I've been to JAPS, and TBH he doesn't get any better

But that doesn't really matter, well not to me anyway, as far as I see it it's a lazy Sunday in a field with like minded people who enjoy their cars. I know he says some off the wall comments at times, like the one he made very early on where he said that it was going to be the biggest Japanese show of this years calender (in the UK)  arr that made me chuckle ;)

I know what you mean about the Ford side of things, it was very slick, and there were some very nice vehicles over that side as well, especially a very nice Moonstone Blue Original Sierra Cosworth and a even rarer Moonstone Blue RS500 Cosworth, both in excellent condition

Oh yeah, and there was this Escort MK iv van.......

dont forget

you still owe me a tenner for not putting mine into the judging

Whilst on the subject of 'MC Retard''!-what about the bloke judging?

Took the motor in as a modified car(which I reckon it is!) and he came over and said ''Got to ask,but why take out a perfectly good, reliable,Japanese engine and put that in?'' I looked at him and said '' Who the fook told you that then!'' and ''Because I wanted to!''

Funny thing,he didn't ask anyone else ''Why did you fit that spoiler?'' etc!!!

HOT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I burned my bonce more there than a whole week in Cyprus :headvswal :headvswal

Nice to see a good turnout and i still don,t think i met Apache :headvswal :

Well done to Steve for his trophy , Luke,s motor looked superb in the sunshine and poor Tizer was seen drooling over his old car  and i,ve gotta agree , the guy on the mike must have been one of the gardeners as he knew fook all about cars :xxx:

I think you did mate :) Stood nattering to you and Daz for a short while about this, that and t'other :)

come on guys give the bloke a break

Why??

There were hundreds of people there who all paid £6 to Mr moneygrabbing Greenwood.

Firstly .. there was no trained First aid /St Johns ambulance in attendance and secondly we were subjected to this amateur pillock talking about a subject(Jap Cars) that he knew little or nowt about..

Poor show indeed.

But of course nice to see so many 300ZX peolpe there.

should have got me on the mike then i havent got a clue either lol!! and i would have been a better judge, Trophies all round for all Z owners!!
