Hi bud, glad your happy with here and you save her from that

madman who wanted to rip her apart.

The shocks KYB AGX i bought off Ryan at Z Tech paid cash

i think they were surplus to requirements. The Upper link arms

Tension rods and ARB link ends are SPL and were bought

off Smithy, didnt Manta have receipt for those.HTH

hi mate, im pauls mate, hes gettin some knocking and grinding from the passenger side suspension area which hes abit worried about. any ideas what it could be.

i cant seem to get hold of to let him know your online.

just read your other post about the suspension.

The shocks on the other side started to make

noises about a month after they were put on

and they just needed the top nut nipping up

as my mate said they were just bedding in

sort of. half hour later no more noises

we felt a knock twice on the test drive but then it all seemed ok, and he drove it fairly hard.

but since hes had it home its kocking and grinding. other than that i think hes well chuffed with his purchase.

any ideas about the previous history of the car.

the noise can also be tension arm bushes (or other bushes). They split, the gel (inside) leaks, and you get that horrible grinding noise. More noticable when cold/wet.

It's got SPL arms mate,so no bushes.

Si-all I can say is get her up in the air and check it out,got to say when he pulled off and I heard the noise, sounded like brake pads knocking??

Let me know how he gets on bud. ;)

WOOOOOO, just been out for a spin with the missus, i took my wife as well!!

ey up lads, cheers for the info bubbles, deffo not break pads manta, can understand why you wouldnt have heard it, it seems to happen loads more when the car gets hot.

wanted bills for the suspension stuff so if i need a part i can source it myself but guess ill just look at the one on the other side!!

nip the nut bubbles?, could you post the thread, im taking it in on tue for a close look but that could save me some reyt dosh!

Paula (my wife) wants to call the car pearl but i think it should have a beefy mans name like Clubber Lang or Ivan Drago!!!

ey up si

Just tightened the top nut on the shock ie the one under the bonnet

and the one under the cover by the speaker at the back.I only did the

drivers side. Those shocks have got less than 2000 miles on so they

cant be buggered

ta for the reply, i am in the hoose so i havent looked but i presume you mean the nut at the bottom of the self adjuster and not the self adjuster itself?

it is the passenger side btw.

by the way, do you still drive a z?

ta

paul

Thats the one, also check the upper link arms etc cause after

my mate put them on i went and had a 4 wheel allignment

done so possibly they didnt tighten everything up properly.

all the SPL stuff has done less than 2k as well. Hope you sort it.

Ive got a MR2 turbo now, a bit cheaper to run and mod but do miss the

shortie a bit.

just took the z in to a guy who races cars, he says all the susp is fine, the roll bar link ends are causing the noise, he says thats ok and is due to the absence of bushes. The ends are metal on metal and will cause noise he recons. im happy with that, any thoughts?

booked in on mon, should i de-cat her?!!!

i think im going to

bubbles, did you get round to looking at the ambient temp sesor? i have one coming in the post but ive checked the can thing out on the drivers side behind the bumper and it looks fine, not really sure what im looking at tho!!

did you find out if it was disconnected when the strosek was fitted?

cheers

paul

Are you looking at the little black box with a lead on it?-if it's connected, then it's fooked! :)

drivers side, black can shaped thing, 2 plastic connectors on it, 1 black, 1 orange (i think).
