With the '600'! :o -after mucho faffing around with it,I decided tonight to go as weak as I could with the jets I had-with the idea of richening as I went.

So off I go and boot it (expecting fook all!) and feck me it flew!-rev counter skyward!-about time!

Only trouble is I can't keep out of it now and it's costing me a bloody fortune! :wack:

Roll on Thoresby!! :duffer:

Funny thing tho'-I had the same carb on the Cobra and that was great-straight out of the box! :wack:

any vids? really want to see this beast in action! what bhp is it pushing?

Meant to ask you this already. Have you had to mod the bonnet at all or does it all go under?

Also, how much work needed on the sump?

I did try to keep the bonnet unmolested! but had to put a small bulge on!

It's one of lukes, cut down and back to front!-I'm running a Edelbrock Pro-Flo at the mo'!

The sump just needs 'squaring off' so little that no capacity is lost, these might help,

you lucky, lucky bastid lol! wish I had a car like that! just out of interest what is the fuelling like?

Now not too bad!-a bit thirsteir than the TT but must be getting mid to late teens on a run. :)

Thanks for pics, looks like a fair chunk out of the sump.

You should be seeing low 20's mpg on a run as long as your cam isn't too wild.

Also, when you have a bit of a sustained thrash , say 10-15 secs, keep an ear out for tappets rattling. Mine used to run out of oil, or rather pump it all up the top end, after a good caning. Ended up with a big wing sump to cure it.

Also, with your sump you might find if you brake heavily and then boot it that the tappets will rattle again cos all the oil has gone up the front and the pickup has sucked a load of air in, and the tappets have compressed.

The only cure is a deeper sump with a trapdoor if poss. Mine is 8" deep but no trapdoors, and it still does the braking thing.

See how you go..
