I do work intranets (a businesses internal website) usually incorporating a database of some kind.

At home I am playing with flash websites and streaming video/audio from home.

I built/managed my work website and intranet and the databases behind them.

I have my own website but is not finished yet as dont get the time. When I get home, normally cant be bothered to do anymore work on the PC. lol

Speak to Legrath, he runs his own business and use to work for a company doing their website. He's done Smithy's too iirc.

Well you know i do for a start :D

Your the one i was talking about bud !! LOL

i make websites for car manufacturers :)

post some links up of your mates sites, always nice to compare.

i primarily use XHTML, CSS2, PHP, Flash and Perl

These are all the old ones, i'm rewriting my new ones in AJAX and PHP at the moment and evolving the administration functions. Check http://www.progrind.co.uk out in the next 24 hours and you'll see how it all slots together. The later ones are the more professional ones:

www.testsonthenet.com (wrote a few years ago - nothing fancy about it apart from online tests!)

www.bromley.ac.uk I maintain College website/intranet(s). I dont do the marketing side of it, just the databases and code behind.

www.1st-degree-galleries.co.uk My webiste but is out of date.

I primarily code in ASP (VB), ASP.NET (VB.NET), Oracle and Sql Server.

He is very impatient too :D lol

I like your sites Bantam. I think they're Ace!

Cheers matey :) They're all a bit old hat now i think. I'm pushing forward with making more attractive sites with a more corporate feel to them.

Clearwater Recruitment is getting close designwise to what i should be doing.

Progrind should look pretty good by tomorrow, just sorting out the back end before finishing off the ajax front end.

Unfortunately many of my sites are for media access only, so unless you're a journalist you can't get access. However here are some examples and screenshots for those that are passworded.

Suzuki Media Site

This one's the honda media site, it's open to the public. Has all the cool adverts to download! I didn't do the whole thing but some of it, mainly graphics:

Toyota media site, you can only see the front page. I did the whole site on my own and I personally think it's one of the best media sites out there. Fairly strict guidelines on this one:

X factor events, fully flash mini-site. Colour scheme etc NOT chosen by me, I just did the animation, flash and graphics work :)

If anyone knows a good workplace looking for a web designer/coder near Brighton, let me know! I'm looking to move!

P.S Nice stuff guys.

Jack - I like your SEO techniques, just checked the source of your index :D

still working on the new shop content on mine.. and still waiting for the online cc authentication to be dropped in, the whole site is low level flash nothing takes more than 3 secs to load on any page.. main page only available this is the retail site, the corporate will be on a different entry page

sim, i like that layout mate, but not sure if its my screen or not, but the graphics are mixed up quite a bit mate, more so on the left .

but layout is very nice

the resize code is a bit squiffy in places and some browsers may not implement it, im a dab hand at flash etc, but i have had to change it over 13 times now for full browser compatibility.. doing my tits in, and the shop side is really pissing me off as i have to keep changing the stock and prices all the time, until i get the database automation running, that way i just upload the latest trade figures for the items and it will change the prices for me.

the biggest problem at the moment is getting the cc system in for payments and then getting it tested and certified secure

make sure you have the latest flash and that your browser isnt just minimized, you can do a full screen view that should sort it out.

Dude, how come several parts are split up into separate Flash files? Could they not be combined? I presume it loads product details from XML?

Nice one

Paul

its that way coz i likes it that way ;) and its just a base entry at them moment, im still compiling and still trying to keep the cc companies happy with the shop side of it
