Are you referencing the right DAO compatibility version? It's been a few years since I fired up VB4, but I think you have the references list list VB5 n 6.

Just a thought

err, pass  how do i check that?

Quick reply - to say I'll have look on one of my old work pc's tomorrow. Will report back tomorrow evening. In the mean time you may find google resolves your prob.

Hi Dave,

Fired up a few old computers today at work - but none with VB4 on it. However I did find a VB4 install cd at home this evening! So if you do want more assistance, PM me and I'll install it, and see what I can do for you.

Cheers

cheers for the offer WillyEd - I'll see how i get on with VB2005 for now, it looks like it's got integrated database access, but im still trying to find a tutorial on how to use it :wack: i'll get there eventually. (once ive got that working i need to make it unzip files into a directory!)
