Hi guys,

I have about £1000 - £1250 max to spend on mods for my motor!

At the moment I have the standard filters, so am interested in an induction kit that wont cause MAF problems (Maybe Smithy's dual cone system). Also, I am interested in a boost controller, which would mean updating my ECU.

What can I get for between £1000 - £1250? Also, any recommendations of makes & models and places where to get installed. Thor Racing look very good!

I have looked at Thor Racing's website Thor Racing and I can get an Apexi Power FC and commander unit for £675 + fitting and remapping an extra £412 + £280 for a boost controller + £300 to fit boost controller. (I think thats correct!? )

So thats a total of £1667 + i'll need an induction kit too! Sounds mega expensive!

Thor Racing did recommend Link XLEM ECU, which is even more expensive! Anyone heard of them?

Anyway, what can I get for about £1000 - £1250 for ECU / boost controller / induction kit?

I dont fancy getting a plug in chip as I have my decats in place and most preloaded maps are programmed for having cats! Plus I kinda like the commander console idea with the Apexi Power FC or alike!

as far as i know there is no Power FC for the 300zx(could be wrong though)

i would recommend:

upgraded ecu,Andyp: under £100

greddy profec b,ebay: around £150

induction kit,apexi,smithy around £100

and a pair of greddy intercoolers,smithy,around £600

i think you will find everyone has different makes etc they like but that worked well for me.

how much is an uprated auto box?

Any reason for the uprated intercoolers? I thought they are good for up to 400 bhp?

No but i'm very good at spending money ;)

bloody hell, and what major effect would that have?

I can safely say my car is mint! Its had a recent cambelt change and a major service including new engine oil, diff oil, gearbox oil, brakes bled, new clutch fluid, new brake pads and platinum tipped spark plugs!

Im just so confused with the choices available out there. Im like a little boy in the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory's sweet shop. I just dont know what to choose! lol.

Can't you just put some old 5p coins in the wastegate and that's just as good as a boost controller?

That's what I heard anyway. ;)

go for a big brake kit, air induction and a chip...

with the brake kit, you can use your power much better

Chip, Profec B, Apexi filter and free flow exhausts (from as far forward as you can get, ie downpipes back plus bin the cats if your sure the car is golden!)

Any spare cash keep for a rainy day!

60k service to make sure all is okie dokie

Uprated ECU

Apexi Induction

GReddy Profec B spec 2

Uprated brake pads

:D

lol i like how your the only guy that thinks about stopping once its going faster :) a wise man here indeed! :)
