The chrome on my alloys is showing its age and looking pretty ropey. Im thinking about getting the kerbed rims fixed (maybe do it myself what do you think?) and then spraying the center of my 5spokes black and keeping a chromed ring.

Thing is ive never done this before, so guessing its not just a case of sanding down the 5 spokes then hamerite-ing them?

ย

Is this feasible job to do myself?

I'm currently doing mine . but had a badly damaged rim which i sorted out at work. its quite feasible to do just get the right paint and lacquer which I'm still trying to find.

I'm probably going to use a bright silver and a couple of coats of automotive lacquer as i couldn't find anything else apart from halfords wheel repair kit which contains the paint!!

looks like its going well mate! found this link which contains a lacquer that should do. I was thinking of getting bit creative and doing wheel spokes black and keep the rim chrome/silver
