Went in the loft earlier and i have bats in there, shite myself and the wife nearly fell off the ladder as it started flying around :smw:

Featured Replies

As a protected spiecies you are not allowded to get rid of them. You have bats now they'll keep down the local insect population for you.

Yeah you can't get rid they're protected.

You could try luring them out by dressing up as Batman and running around outside your house after dark...

Bats are creaturers of the night well late evening really. They sleep in the day and come out to feed at dusk and sometimes at dawn. They can make a mess with droppings. All the best with the bats and the wife. :D

bats are very cool creatures .. I love them .. my last house had bats and they were fantastic to watch at night. I'm afraid you are stuck with them ..

Try not to disturb them to much. I'm sure you will get along fine after a while :-)

Call the RSPCA. They'll be able to advise you best. Might even send someone round to relocate them for you.

what would they do if you left a light on up there?

Vijay

They'd think it was day and go into the darkest parts of the loft and sleep.

Bats are protected, I have them in my house. Look upon it as a compliment, they only live in nice clean places and they eat those nasty, biting, flying things ...

Some friends used to have them in their loft. Apparently they were a rare variety and they'd get knocks on the door from bat-spotting types asking if they could come in and have a look. :headvswal
