I've been trying to get the same refurb company to do my wheels now for over a week - but because I cant 'split' my split rims they wont pick them up - and I cant get time off work to take the wheels to them. So I thought I ask on here to find out if anyone knows what materials I'd need to DIY.
I thought - mask off the rims themselves which are in good nick. Sand down the spokes, taking off all the old finish and making them smooth to touch. Prime them, paint them, lacquer them. How hard can it be?
I was thinkin gloss black plasticote and several layers of lacquer. Any advice welcome from anyone who's tackled this. Paint type, etc?
