[COLOR=DarkRed]New Engine

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Recently put a new engine in my Zed and now think the Rear Relay unit is faulty.(the light warrning on the dashboard

Anyone know why putting a new engine in would cos this to have problems?

Problem started the first time I turned the car on.??

37 Check the 10 amp ( red ) fuse marked "engine cont" this is located on the inner wing under the bonnet in the large black relay and fuse box.

Possible a cable shorted out for this circuit at some stage.

I have checked the fuse and the engine cont one is blown. I replaced it and as soon as I turned on the car it bloew again.

Can you please help me sort this problem out as it seems you really know your oats.

Hi Joe,

The fuse you having problems with supplies power to quite a few engine sensors and operational solenoids, the correct circuit wiring diagram would help you, check around the auxillary air valve as a starting point, this is the unit at the rear of the engine close to the battery, this unit is responsible for controlling tick over and stabilty when cold, this unit has 3 x connecters the most likely fault area is the top connector of the three.

I will put a list together for you of the circuit layout and post it later, meanwhile you could check out the circuit diagram in the online manual ( do a search for on here )

Do not be tempted to put a bigger fuse as the circuit drivers for such things as the aav will burn out inside the ecu.

The most likely reason for the fault is the disturbance of the wiring loom, maybe got caught up or one of the connections has become shorted when reconnected, ( worth checking all again)

Ok try and post more details asap, alternatively let me have your e-mail address and can send you full details and circuits to check
