ello guys

just got back from dyno testing the car

what a suprise .. 178.9bhp @6048 rpm

just wondered if there are different standards of measuring BHP .. same as amplifier companies use RMS & peak power

i noticed mine says met/hp and others have din/hp .. which one is the correct or industry standard?

Thanks

John

Did they specify if it was at the wheels on at the flywheel John? Generally add 25% to wheel BHP on a manual Zed to get the flywheel figure...

are you saying that wozzers NA was dyno'd at 248bhp at the wheels?

yes bud .. thats what his printout reads

248 at the wheels for an NA is fantastic wish mine was that good, in fact I bet theres a few TTs out there that would like a figure like that.

john u sure wozzers wasnt at the fly ??

not 100% sure bud but even if you do the sums mine only comes to 225ish at the fly

i do belive it is a the rear wheel's.."BUT" will be checking this again at J&E

zxmad mine says "correction method":Standard.....peak power:248.7@5658rpm ...BY:Dynomobile LTD...

would of thought it was much more than 225

nope its roughly 25% of the bhp added which works out 222.5.. which aint bad at all considering its a 10 year old car

Most dynos will take the reading at the fly, if you have that much power in an NA (lighter, different gear ratios) you should be blowing TTs away daily.

i am faster than some TT "but" only to 100/110 and then they're pulling away,,so it's all low down...

248bhp will be at the fly, otherwise your looking at 330'ish at the fly which would be a 100bhp increase and the most powerfull NA VG30DE in the world ;)

Still, both are very good figures. The wifes NA is complely standard, would be interested to see what figure it puts out, and then try out some of the basic mods (induction, decat, catback, headers, chip..etc)

25% who gave you that figure?? more like 15% for manual RWD car, 4WD cars have a loss of about 25% but not a chance for our cars ;)

I was told by a tuner it is 20% loss for a rear wheel drive car, and 15% loss for a front wheel drive car.

i think 15% poss upto 18% would be max to work it out

tbh most rolling roads actually read at the wheels then they convert it to fly which i never understand?? lol

I was basing it on info from this thread Mike. Happy to be corrected though...
