Dont know if you know bud but the standard bumper is too short if you stretch it out to the wide arches, it dosent come right up to the wheel arch, this is how i did it.

You can see how the bumper is short

I made a steel mesh frame

3.jpg

Add lashings of fibreglass

4.jpg

Made a metal plate for the inside and glassed it in place

Blended and sanded

The finished job. Cheaper and nicer than the strosek bumper in my opinion.

Gimme a shout when u need any help.

You have "big cojones" trying that yourself - hope it works out mate ;)

Well done Stella

Your going for the strosek type arches I take it? How long did it take to cut and weld the stanard arches? You better put up a full blow by blow acount up so I can have a good gander. I'm going for the Explosion wide arch kit myself, but I'm going to do it during the winter and thinking of doing all the donkey work myself. Then just taking it to the body shop for a final rub over and paint.

once marked, which took about 10 mins, i took approx three hours to cut and weld the arches, unfortunately because i was in a hurry to do this i couldnt take step by step pics

but i will try and sort something out later, its a piece off piss to cut and weld them, we even used a grinder instead of a air hacksaw

the arches are being put on by someone who has done this a few times, im merely helping in that deparment, although im going to have a go at fitting the rear bumper myself
