just going over the car now (long story but it hasnt been running properley for a while...ie runs mega rough and has no power to drive) and im cleaning all the connectors...this one is really dirty plus the wires are split...what is it for?

(will do diagnostic check once battery is charged)

Temp sensor for the ecu , if its dirty or corroded it causes alot of problems :smash: HTH

That will cause lack of power, fault codes and aux fan to be on .

so if for instance there was no power or signal getting through, it would cause the car to have serious running issues?

Yep, give Mike Feeney (MJP) a call, he'll be able to sort you out.

it makes the car think it's over heating so it over fuels and turns on the aux fax. give it a good clean and then try it. a new one is only about £14. easy to fit, just strip back the old wires abit towards the loom and re-solder the new one in
