Rocker cover to plenum pcv hose

Can anyone tell me what position the pcv hose goes that links the plenum to the passenger side outer rocker cover. What I mean is that there is a small penny washer inside the hose that sits about 40 mm from one end of the hose, does that go against the plenum or at the rocker cover side.
