Well, not excactly bought LOL, but due to my disability (fooked leg lol) ive been accepted on the motability scheme, so, i went and sorted a new daily car out for myself.

 

I went in mind to get an estate car for practicality etc, but ended up with a 3 door hatch back :o

 

I chose a Vauxhall Astra SXi Sports hatch 1600 16v Easy tronic in the end, in Moonland (Gunmetal grey) Im due to get it in about 6~8 weeks.

Gotta say, the motability scheme has made me realise that this country isnt so bad after all, although its charity based and has nothing to do with the government :xxx:

Well as my TT is off the road til next year, i'll be keeping it til at least then, if not longer, but we will see, she maybe up for sale for the right price :)

I could of had anything i wanted within reason, but as i need an Auto/Tiptronic, i just went for the said astra, its not totally free thou, i have to surrender my DLA (Disability living allowance) every month for it, which is about £150.

Should have been one of these.

 

Least it might have slowed you down a bit. :D

Looked into the motobility scheme for the Mrs, and I got to say, personally, I dont like it, I know its free tax, mot, blah blah blah, but do you realise that the car has to be returned in imaculate condition? If not, you will be charge to correct all the 'defects', and its not cheap!

My father's had motability cars for years. Great schemes. Car doesn't have to be returned in immaculate condition. Wear and tear and minor knocks and dents respective to the car's use/age are fine. But with the excess in the free insurance being only about £70, there is no excuse to return it in a beaten up state really.

 

Good cars those MK5s. Well screwed together. I'm really happy with mine chunk.

no it doesnt bud the most you get charged is the excess £75 I think

My dad is on his 5th car thats 12yrs on the scheme an only ever paid the excess :)
