Have got a problem with the back wheels. I have recently replaced the rear passenger side wheel bearing and hub. But now iv'e done a couple of miles(8) both rear wheels have vertical play in them.

Could this be something as simple as the centre nuts not been tight enough or would you think there is another problem? Any help will be appreciated.

Well sorted the problem today but dont think it will last. The hub nuts keep working they way loose and goes back to the split pin, and believe you me they were put on tight'enough. so lets see if it does it again  .

split pins is meant to stop nuts turning in the first place you havnt missed out thick washers that go under the nuts by any chance, pins are supposed to go through slots on outer edge of nuts sounds like nuts are to far in .

Can check when you come down mate ^^^^^^^^^^ but could be as above ? Try loctite as an extra. 206nm - 275nm is the torque

Both sides have washers in but the nut are well past the hole for the split pin, but nut cover still fits on to bolt when in place and is still held by pin. Will give loctite a go and see what happens.

thanks

Dave

yep know covers you mean you could try marking nuts and hub to check and see wether its nuts loosening or drive shafts settling into bearings, drive shafts sometimes need quite a bit of tightening before they seat in properly.
