hey Xav - im going to do this to mine too..your'e only down the road from me arn't you? you'll have to show me how you did it!

got mine from ebay mate search under faux leather or vinyl theres quite a few who do it.

Ed209, sure can do once its done. And i still cant pm you!. Please email xav2075@yahoo.co.uk if you fancy meeting up for a jar or whatever :)

don't think i have pm as im not paid member! but yeah be good to have a get together for a jar or two..i'll mail you, so are you in the process of doing the interior now?

make sure you use a good strong glue on door panels i used spray glue which was ok for all panels except doors, vinyl has started peeling off already and theyre not on car yet, only been sitting in spare room for last couple of weeks gonna have to redo them with better glue.

I am doing my carputer project first which should be done by sunday then i will have a go at the tweed. I will just do the centre console storage box lid first to get a feel for it. Then with no wrinkles i will do the rest :)

carputer ey? very posh..yeah think i'll start with storage box lid first..

i've gotta take the door panels off anyway to change the speakers so was thinking i may as well do it then..

anyone know where a can get a complete set of screws/clips for the doors panels? id rather get new ones than replace the old ones..

carputer is one of the near future projects its getting painted just now and put back together with refurbed interior next on list is new shocks and rose jointed suspension links etc,

i got so many things i want to do to mine, but not enough money to do everything at once like i want to!

if i was you guys i would do the panels that run along the side of the plastick handbreak surround first. do those then move onto the other panels, the lid for the storage box isnt easy to do.

however all i did was , spray the box first(the foam was still attatched to the lid top and was good) make sure you spray underneath it also. then laid the fabric down and sprayed the back of that, waited a few mins for it to tack up then gently pressed one side of the lid to the fabric and rolled it onto it left to right, turned it, and smoothed the fabric, then turned upside down again and pulled the side over on one side and trimmed and tucked it. the console box lid isnt easy, you have to be patient.

i really wish i had done a step by step on it. i have a few panels left to do so i will do one for them.

best thing to remove the tweed, tube of evo and a match and then walk away :nelson:

While you're doing your re-trim, check out this link >> http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=67979 as it's well worth doing while you're at it.

Also have you considered doing it in leather? I did mine in Vinyl about 18 months ago, about two months ago I changed it all again for leather, much, much better, well worth it. Vinyl cost about £25(ish), leather cost me £95 for a complete hide (you don't need all of it) from e-bay, very friendly guy and arrived very quickly (also smells lovely!!) (Link Here!!)

Just a thought.

I have got some red vinyl, would need to measure it though. Pictures of it in my rides section. Was going to use it for the boot but probably selling the Z now so...
