Just been to look at my first ZX, a '93 TT auto. Looked absolutely spotless. £4800, a bit dear maybe??? Anyway, got in to have a drive but couldn't get my knees under the steering wheel. ( I'm 6'3" ) Moved the seat back to get legs in but couldn't reach the damn wheel.

OK I know I could fit a smaller wheel and a spacer boss, but my wife want to drive it too (5'2")

Couldn't believe the wheel wasn't adjustable.

So, 2 questions, is price reasonable, and did any models come with adjustable steering columns? Cheers.

Firstly, I'm same height and can drive mine no prbs!(you must be all legs LOL!)

and I'm pretty sure none of the Z32's had adjustable columns.

As for the price mate, you gets what ya' pays for! ;)

You definatly should'nt have any problems with fitting in, Im 6ft 2", and I've met several owners over 6ft 5"

It Sounds like the seat was at its highest point, and probably with the seatbase angled up too. Did you try all the adjustments, Its 8 way adjustable (each of the 2 buttons, can be moved up, down, left and right)

mmmm....,I did have a good fart about with the seat switches, but couldn't say now whether it was on its absolute lowest. Won't let it put me off buying too much.

If I can't get on with it I'll just graft a Mondeo column in, or something.

I think I must be a member of the long leg short arm brigade.

One other thing, my wife didn't like it cos there were no rear headrestraints.

Yeah, I know wot you're all thinking but looking at it, the seat back is quite low and if I was taken up the rear end!!! then my daughter would have her head somewhere on the boot floor. Were rear headrests ever an option?

No rear headrest option, but how old is she.....becuase to be honest if she is big enough for her head to be higher than the seat back, then she's probably too big to actually fit her legs in there.

With the bucket seat base, the actual height from bottom to top is a lot more than it looks.

The seats are great for kids, but ever so painful for adults :(

Well it was just my wife that tried the seats. She's 5'2" and fitted in the seat ok, but the seat back only came up to her shoulders. As you say tho' probly no-one grown up would want to go in the back anyway.

Im all legs and no arms too, ive got an after market wheel and the way im getting round it is purchasing a wheel spacer from demon tweeks (only £35) and means i can have the seat in the right place...

As for the price, as manta said, you definatly get what you pay for with these cars. I payed £5k back in nov for mine, but the car was pretty good and had full history of work done. Think 4.8 isnt bad at all if its a good one.

Thanks chaps. I know these questions are crap, but I need to get the wife to agree that buying a 160mph supercar is a good idea when we don't actually need one.

What we really need is new fascia boards and a new bathroom suite!

Mate no such thing as a crap question, way i got round it, (apart from not listening!) was i threatend to buy a nova sri! Did the trick asno way she would put up with a nova lol

Im 6ft2", i have to shuffle my left leg under the steering wheel in a certain way so it will go past it. Its made a bit more awkward as i always have a steering lock on the steering wheel.

I struggle to get my legs in (under the wheel) but once in its fine. 6'4 But my body is long and legs are short, lol
