New posts?

How come sometime when I look at new posts I see three pages of interesting stuff to go through, then 5 minutes later there are only 4 or 5 things in there. Then, just to confuse me more, if I go back 30 minutes later there are 3 pages of new things again? :headvswal

 

How are new posts calculated?

    what confuses me is sometimes I'll log on to the forum after say 24 hours, and when I click on new posts there'll only be about three new posts there (when there's obviously plenty more, especially when Bantambunny's about :rofl: )
