i install this onto mainframes and company systems all over the place, now out for release and 64 bit complient is the new kaspersky internet suite.

its got a 30 day trial and you get all that software and the years subs for 40quid. i have installed this on several members new machines from me and helped other members with it to cure viruses that none of the others like norton, avg, mcafee etc cant shift.

can reccomend this enough guys...

Sure it does what it says on the tin though, does look good.

i have this on two very very major clients systems that runs two cold room mainframes, never let me down.. ever!!

i brought this up as a few guys were moaning that it wasnt 64 bit compatible even though you could get the v6 beta if you asked. now its 64 bit off the shelf..

Cold room main frames? Aren't they sealed systems with at best RAS access though? Surely they're far from being open to a 'viral' threat?

linea access systems with propogated nodes and primary layer acess points, with a non closed acces point there is always the chance of viral access or non auth access.

i prefer a colsed system with point to point node acess thats primary based, that way the gateway is closed prior to secondary acess, therefore all propogated node points have only tertiary acees

please excuse the typos my hadns look like the size of shovels at the moment fookin got an infection... again!

Well I suppose the Dinosaur technology might need some protection, let's face it mate 12 year old Welsh boys have hacked into main frames. War Games was based on WOPPA a dodgy main frame that calculated the outcome of WWIII and that was hacked by what? A teenager! LOL :D

Also the CIA have had regular episodes with what? Yep kids with modems and a computer hacking into their mainframes so I guess you're right...my advice? If you've got a mainframe at home maybe outside in the garage humming away on phase III power and managing a measily 0.0000099 MIPS then get it protected while it tries to work out your financial status for you and add up 2 + 2 to produce 99.999999 recurring! PMSL :D Pffffffffffffffftttttttttttttttt!!!

yep we also send it out with our PC's :) as well as bullguard (also good)

NORTON AND MC_caffcrap suck

Yeah but I see what you guys are saying, but isn't anti-virus software only as good as the reference it uses e.g. the upto date signature file or whatever you want to call it? I check for new sigs daily, I run SpyBot daily aswell and Ad-Aware and the spyware programs seem to find stuff all the time!

Sounds like your over protected M8 you only want to run one Anti-spy/ad-ware program as they can conflict.

We had a PC in last month that was crawling (it had been back and forth to the PC-Builder and they kept charging for diff utils it had Norton, mccaffrey, AVG, zone alarm and dozen diff anti spy, It was a joke so we backed up and did a re-install then found out the company they bought it from had used a hooky XP (when we phoned the said PC builder and got a police message that said the firm has been shut down for fraud LOL).

No mate, I found that SpyBot finds stuff that Ad-Aware doesn't so I don't think I'm over protected I think I have found an excellent level of security on my PC.

eTrust is fantastic, not long after I got my PC I went to download Winamp which was not a good idea seeing as the official site had a Trojan in with the download which eTrust spotted straight away!

F\/ck just install Linux or get Unix/Mac instead! ;)

The Anti Virus firms saw a potential for selling more 'security' software so they have induced paranoia in folks who are not PC techies. They sell these security centres that are 'the only way to be safe'. And these security centres are horrid. With a wrong click you can shutdown web, messenger and internet games access.

For home PC i use AVG, run Adaware every 2 weeks and run Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer 2.0 that lets you apply patches if your copy of windows is somehow recognised by windowsupdate.com as not being legit (cough cough).

If you need MBSA 2.0 you can get it from here:
