Thinking of getting one as a daily driver/track beast in a few months, has anyone had one before?

Just loosing interest in the maintanence associated with a 13 year old Nissan, it's not the costs but the time spent fiddling all the time. With another baby on the way and moving house into a place needing lots of work I'll have less time than ever.

Makes sense to buy a car that will double up as a family car but which is fun to drive and that I can jump straight in and drive to a track with.

It's shame really as the S13 is driving amazing, is just the spec I wanted it, but all of a sudden I want something different and a bit more sensible. Maybe I'm getting old :p

Spent about £9k on the S13 in just over a year! Wont see much/any return on that :(

Cheers

Pete

An Evo, especially an older one will cost loads of time / money to keep on the road.

Get an Integra DC5 - it'll be as quick as anything on the road and designed with low maintenance in mind.

so does a z craig

as long a the evo has been looked after then no they dont cost alot to run , and certainly alot cheaper than a zed by far !! costs £35 to fill up the tank from empty and lasts 200 miles.

The DC5 is not bad around 200 bhp so quick. but also that model is from 2001 onwards so dam expensive. £9-10k upwards . U can get an evo 4 for about 4-5k these days. Handling as well , An evo will demolish most cars at handling being 4wd over the civic type r's etc. Alot of driver seem to go from typr r's to evo on a regualr basis.

The evo 3 pushes 270bhp and 228 ft lb torque

The evo 4 pushes 280bhp and 260 ft lb torque

The evo 5 pushes 280bhp and 274 ft lb torque

The evo 6 pushes 280bhp and 274 ft lb torque

The evo 7 pushes 280bhp and 282 ft lb torque

And its torque that really counts ay , Get an evo thats been looked after , Regular services ( oil changes , oil diff changes) same as any higher powered car and you will be laughing. Also the evos are built to withstand abuse unlike scoobies which pop on a regular basis.
