seeing as so many people have now got this, prehaps we should now have a seperate datascan infoand support section on the forum, that would keep al info related to this in one place?

Sorry i didn't realise that, i see why posting the datascan up wouldn't be fair. Sorry.

Danny some of the people with datascan might move onto conZult if they find datascan a good bit of kit to have. I have seen how much option and control you do have with ConZult compared to datascan.

That is really good for ConZult to come with what the readings should. Not something i would of expected big bonus.

No problem Chris ;)

Like I said before, the entry of Blatz and Datascan hasn't affected ConZult sales so I'm not worried about that aspect.

We are looking into the possibility of integrating the "correct" performance parameters into the ConZult software. This means that if the ConZult detects a sensor reading outside of stock parameters it will bring up a warning message. Unfortunately it is not as straight forward as that because (a) there are so many performance parameters which are influenced by other factors and so pin pointing a potential problem is very difficult, and (b) there are a lot of modified cars out there which run different performance parameters without cause for concern. We need to find a nice "middle of the road" solution for that so for the time being we've put the data in the user manual.

And just to comment on what Les (Billynomates) said - support should indeed come from the company/individual who originally sold the equipment. Technical issues are usually best resolved on a one-to-one basis which minimises the potential for "faulty" second-hand information finding its way into the world and thereby causing unnecessary confusion.

I see no problem in people posting their results and questions regarding their results.

i only started this thread as i could see the forum becoming swamped with loads of datascan questions over the next few weeks and it may have been a good idea to have its own section that way it would cover most questions and answers in there one forum section to cover it all, bit like the faq section does.

so prehaps two sections that cover both systems, and if possible writeups and if need be will can make our own manual for datascan, however this manual is for paid members only and not for distribution, i have no problem putting one together in a pdf format. but if i am going to take the time to do a detailed manual on both items it should be something that is only for subscribed members here as it will originate from this club.

I will start on the manual as soon as possible and then beging the pdf format also, i will include pics and cross reference details with other owners/users and hopefully we wil have something in the way of a good information base for both of these products.

then we can have both a datascan info room and a conzult room to talk about these thing, our own buil manual in the datascan room and the conzult as danny has explained wont have a copy of the manual in there because of its nature , but info gained by owners and users can be shared.

Sounds great PK, definatly would be handy for us subscribbed members. the software looks like it has a reasonable amount of stuff that without a guide il never use.

Unless the Blatz UK people fork out the £100 a year it takes to become a trader on this forum then I'd say "no" to the suggested idea of putting up even an info only section.

I'm sorry if this rubs some people up the wrong way but I don't see why I should pay the full traders fee (and have been paying for the past three years) and someone who's not even a paid up member gets a free section. Regardless of whether it is an info only section it will promote sales and that would contravene even the club's own trade rules.

If this is such a good product why isn't there full support (either via phone or via their own website). Doesn't the product come with all the relevant figures and data in the form of a user manual, etc?

I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions.

Dan
