Featured Replies

Top speed is about 170 - 185

0-60 is about 5 secs ish

You will get far more looks with a zed than a supra...

any one else

main point.....get a good one..remember that these are 15 year old plus cars...lot of mingers out there.

easy bhp is about 380-390 ish with sensible mods.

When they run well everything is good about it..gotta say its the looks of the car that get it noticed more than anything else.

when they are bad they can be very very bad.

Worst thing is the petrol costs with a heavy right foot.

Hello and welcome to the site, I've only had my 300 for a couple of months and this site & the folk here I have to say are excellent.

Here is a link to the buyers guide http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/BuyingZ.htm

These cars are fast and highly engineered and up to about 17 years old, mine is a youngster at 14 and so inevitibly things will go wrong. It can be a bit hit and miss buying one, look at what's on offer here to get an idea of price, most people here look after the cars.

The advice most people give is to keep a couple of grand in reserve in case things go wrong with it, if you've got a good base car then it's probably worth fixing up, but don't expect to get all the money back you spend on it if you ever sell it.

As mentioned they are heavy on fuel, I only get about 16 -18 mpg out of my auto, but then I didn't buy it as an economic car, I bought it because I think they look the dogs.

Buy one and enjoy it for what it is - a supercar.

.

thanks for your help, ive read stuff about buying one,

so 0-60 is good and top speed is good thanks

welcome to the club mate.

make sure you really can afford to maintain and run the 300zx.they are a 3 litre money eater.

a lot of people buy them expect to be able to mistreat them and still want htem to be as reliable as there old diesel. have money put by for the probability of turbo failure ect because it is an engine out job.

im not trying to put you off just give you the facts. i have seen too many z's being broken just because the owner cannot afford to fix. these cars should be driven and not broken into pieces imo of course.

good luck in what you decide.

what price area you looking at m8 just remember you pay for what you get if it sounds to good (cheep) £1200 then poss something wrong go for one of the fourm and you can get alot of info about it..

in about 2 months i should have 5,000 pound to spend
