Just got my datascan installed and connected up to the car but it wont connect when i click on the connect button-whats going on ?

 

Any help greatly appreciated

have you checked that the Drivers (if USB) were installed correctly. I think there are a total of 3 seperate driver installs, although the 1st one will make the computer think the device is functioning ok.

what number would the USB port be?

im not computer minded as u can see lol

 

Assuming you're running Windows XP, have a look at control panel -> system -> hardware tab -> device manager -> ports> There it should be mentioned which com port is linked to your USB port.

Wheredo i goto get the software activation form ,thats before i start?

Ok i thought i knew a little bout pc's but clearly i'm dim. :confused:

 

Got the same problem.i.e. can get program to recognise cable.

 

on device manager there are no ports listed.

 

with cable plugged in xp tries to install it as new hardware but cant find drivers. have tried unistalling and reinstalling program. have tried all ports on program (0-9) but still nothing.

 

all other usb devices are working fine.

 

Please Help Me cos i'm fed up!
