My reverse lights arent coming on at all. I have checked the bulbs and they are not blown or do not have that appearance. What could this be? Thanks, Jordan

Check the connector and reverse light switch on the gearbox. There are 2 connectors on the Drivers side, its the upper most one on the selector housing.

are you sure you're in reverse gear!!!

sorry i couldn't resist it.. :x:

LOL thats the only way the car would move backwards! But I will double check and let you know, lol.

My Z has reverse light switch problem and I've been trying to get it out already 3hrs, without result.. It's soo stucked. Does anyone have any good ideas how to get it out? Really wouldn't like to take the transmission out because of this issue. My car is at the moment on jack stands so I have access under the car.

Thanks!

Most likely the reverse light switch has worn out mate.

i thought the upper most one was the nuetral switch, also you can check the feed to the swich from under bonnet next to the hicas pot, green wire will put rev lights on

Thanks guys for your help, but if you have read my message, you've noticed that I just borrowed old thread. I have almost same thing as on this topics title.

Problem is with the switch, it's broken. (as I said in my previous msg) No problem with bulbs, fuses, wires etc. Everything else is under control and totally ok, but I just wanted to know how to get stucked reverse light switch off the tranny without taking out the tranny itself. Has anyone else experienced this same thing?

Sorry guys, but I had to make this correction after I read your stories of bulbs and fuses.. Maybe my message was not clear enough or something. :nelson:

But thanks anyway.

Ok, now the switch works again. Had to buy long 19mm socket, remove the transmission rear mounting and support bar, drop the tranny approx 7cm (supported it with jack) and then I had enough room to turn the socket with long iron rod. Man that was tight. Took it out, did some maintenance (electronics cleaning spray and lots of movement) and put it back. Extremely hard job..
