We got a stretch of national speed limit dual carriage way on the way to work. On the way back it was peeing it down and as I got to the road I accelerated hard. As I shifted into second and accelerated the car suddenly spun to the left then quickly to the right and then righted itself.

Now I wasnt in a corner and I know about oversteer with rear wheel drive but I'm not sure what happened to me.

It all happened in about 2 seconds and I did something with the steering wheel when it happened although I'm not sure what. I think I turned it in the opposite way of both skids then let it straighten.

Any ideas? Sh*t me up!

you just lost traction, too hard on the go pedal in the wet, that makes the rears spin, ans the car takes a natural sideways action mate....

go gentle on the go pedal, especially in the wet and with cold tyres

manual. Yeah I guess I wheelspan but that sideways action was mad.

if the road had a slight gradient or the car has lower tyre preassure one side by a slight amount, it will throw the car mate, you have no grip at all, so if the road has a camber, the rear will follow it, if it has less air one side than other, then it will do the same

Always a tad scarry first time round. Just watch those wet roads mate and keep safe.

Watch out for it buddy, its great when you do it for fun but scary when you don't mean it.

Watch out for the back when slowing down as well its an instant adrenaline rush.

Yup 2 months ago i floored it in 2nd at 30mph going up a wet straight road on a hill. Back end starting twitching left and right so i killed the power and it righted itself.

I dont do anything fancy AT ALL in the wet now lol.

But.. on a totaly empty roundabout in the wet sometimes i just nudge the car with a hard steer at a low speed to remind me that the car will loose it in the wet.

At least I got to learn a lesson and live (no money lost) to tell the tale eh.

with racelogic TC on my TT, its even easier to drive than my old NA's whatever the conditions and I highly recomend it to everyone.

ur meant to drive sideways arent you ?

lol, i used to think that until i banged my head quite hard in an accident then supprisingly it put me off drifting on public roads :D

Tooooo much boot in the wet... :nono:

The man knows what he's talking about ;)

RLTC allows you to drive like a loon without stacking it into a barrier/tree/ditch :D I'm amazed that more of the newer members haven't tried it yet...

I'd definately go for traction control but I've got to make sure I got money for repairs etc.

You may need more repairs than you expect without the RLTC !!!

Anyway, may have just been some diesel onthe road ...

totally agree, was never one for driving aids especially something like traction control but the Racelogic system works wonders..
