Would it be possible to map a decatted car to pass the emissions?

Anyone know the proceedure for emissions testing, i think they do one at idle and then dont they rve it to X rpm for so long? anyone know the exact proceedure for the emissions test?

WIth me now having my wideband and my datalogit unit enroute from new zealand, i should be able to keep a couple of maps stored on my laptop and load them up at the touch a a button (or two).

its matters not mr scoops as the mot tester first looks and inspects the CAt and if it aint there and it should be there he will fail it whether it passes the emissions or not!?

Mike

yeah but how many would notice?

Anyway, that wasnt the question.... go and polish your bling. ;)

phaaa

its part of the test and there very strict!!

my R33 flew through the emissions test but as soon as they notices it didnt have the cats then it was a big cross :(

now stop messing with the mapping and get someone who knows what there doing

if u have full engine management ur emissions can be adjusted so to pass the emissions test and as long as ur car is a pre 93 or 94 i think then cats dont matter . My 93 zed had no cats a flew through mot.

even my 2001 evo has no cats and went through mot fine as its running motec m800 management and mapped properly :D but the decat pipe does look like a cat so they will never know ha ha

Can anyone say for sure the year that cats are needed, I have a 93 registered in june that year and would be interested to know if I need them or not.

Yes it is, my car sailed through its MOT running monster injectors and it has LESS emissions than some stock zeds out there. The man that mapped it is a GOD

Like Kirbz said it dont matter as your car needs cats for an MOT.
