This is what one guy told me to do: Check your water level and sensor wiring on sender for temp gauge.

I do not know were the sensor wiring and sender are, as I new to this car.

Also, my engine seems like it idles really high? Were should it rest? Could this be a problem?

Mine is 95 non-turbo, just casual driving what is the best rpm's to shift at?-for gas?

Thanks for all your help and soon to be future help as I plan to start doing many things.

;) If you look at the engine in the middle at the front is two sensors ! check both ! When the engine is cold check the water level in the radiator at the front. make sure that its full right up. When the engine is warm and the gauge is flickering put the heater on full hot and make sure that it is blowing out hot.(you could have an air lock or just a faulty sender. Probably the best revs to change gear for economy would be between 3000 and 4000. Revs should rest between 700rpm and 900 depending on temp and gear position! sorry if i wasnt clear before :headvswal

My idle speed majority of the time is for sure over 1,000 most of the time, and it fluctuates quite a bit, I will check the sensors here shortly, how will I know if they are bad? That seems pretty high rpm's for shifting? Thanks.
