Initially the compression was worse than the engine in my car that I want to replace. On closer inspection, one of the heads wasn't even torqued down and the bolts just spun off, one head gasket had a hole in it the size of a 10p piece, one of the fuel feeds had a gasket in it made out of an old cornflake packet.

 

So, it was even worse than just a worn engine which was supposed to be 100%....with a head not even torqued down, the engine wouldn't have even been a runner. What was even more strange is that it had a new cam belt on it with all the marks painted on the plate.

 

One the pistons was so sloppy it was very easy to see it move in the block.

Any dead animals in there? FFS!!! whats wrong with ppl everywhere you look some one is out for a fast buck, if you ever see the guy again Deck him for us as well as yourself.

That's awful have you spokern yet to the person you bought it from? I hope you can get it all sorted out without being out of pocket.

I think the seller of this needs a quiet word in his ear tbh, thats completely not on, I mean a fookin cornflake box for a gasket, is he taking the piss?

Yeah I sent the guy about 5 PMs, even MAC got involved. I had to post up the other thread and PM him a link to get any hint of a response. As you can see, even then his whole attitude was "I couldn't give a flying f**k"

thats thing when u buy things privately its hard to get a come back when things go wrong, just try flogging it on , on ebay or something

No, because that's where I bought it. I only bought it because I saw the seller on here as a subscribed member advertising it.

 

I'd be as bad as him if I went on to sell it. Someone has offered to buy it for me as a bare engine to rebuild as the only good thing about it is the bores actually look in reasonable condition.

I could be interested in the engine if you are sure it is rebuildable. I want an engine I can build as a high power project, but keep running my zed while I do it.
