whats the most common reason for m.o.t failure?

and what sort of pric to put right?!!

 

mine is going in start of next week and im all ready nervous!! nothing appears wrong with it, drives perfect however im preparing myself incase all is not what it seems!!

HICAS bushes maybe???

the bushes are cheap enough but labour to get them out can be costly. Mine took Scott at Redline about 3 hours just to get one out.....

Most common reason is the MoT station wants some work.

 

Did you know there's 20 depots across the country that MoT busses. Their obliged to test your car if you book it in with them. And because they won't fix it if there are problems, THEY WON'T MAKE ANY UP.

i work at a truck garage and they are licensed but all electric now so dont the probs show automatically?!

The VW place used to fail my Mrs Polo on discs every year and replace them before they'd MoT her car. She only did 5000 miles a year in it.

just replaced tyres, got newer callipers and gonna get some new pads before test.

that should narrow things that it will fail down a bit!

Dont get me started mine was failed by a picky ****er today for things that arnt even faulty like my fog light switch

i know the guy doing mine so hopefully he wont be an arse and will turn a blind eye to the very minor things!

how about failing a the remains of some brown sticky tape on the window..... honest its on my failure sheet ....... laugh well i wont if i meet the ****er

thing is my wifes car passed her mot with a random garage i never used and it was never passable. its weird as i was pissed off becuase her car was passd when unsafe. I was not fussed that mine failed on a few structural problems as i dont want to drive a car thats ****ed, but to fail on a inch by half inch bit of brown tape glue and a non faulty switch does **** me off.

the cheapy garages that offer MOTs at £10 or £15 tend to fail you more because they make the money on repairs, The one near me fails everything on headlight alignment because its something you cant argue or disprove because you dont have the equipment to check it or repair it yourself.
