hi guys

i need to polybush the rear of my car, but I was advised that if I have this work done, there will be a small 'clunk' noise when the car takes off in 1st gear. does anyone have this problem? does anyone here know the cure for it? will nismo bushes avoid this?

also if anyone can pinpoint which bushes individually cause this please let me know, as i might substitute those particular bushes for Nismo ones. Also, is it 'safe' or advisable to mix polybushes with nismo bushes?

thanks

darren

Never heard of that before? have had several cars over the years with these kind of bushes and not had noise.

Maybe the 300zx rear subframe has issues with these bushes and perhaps a different make would be better, clonking on take up could potentially be seen as wear or loose bushs by an MOT station

You only get the clunk if you dont tighten up the big bolts thru the bushes properly. The centre part then clunks against the bolt on braking

You do get a small clunk sound when pollybushin rear end. I have replaced the suframe, diff and sway bar bushes with energy polyurathane ones and it does make a bit of a clunk sound when changing fram 1st to 2nd gear. Also you get a slight whine sound from the diff, which I think is quite cool, a bit like the rally cars make but no where near as loud.

Not the case all bolts tightened up properly :) it is known problem, investigations are ongoing and may have come up with some cures :)

normally if you use the silicone gel/lubricant it reduces the noise-very slightly and needs to be done on a regular basis, reduces squaks aswell
