Anyone know a cheap place to get tyres in Essex? I need new fronts as they are kinda bald and only just noticed...haha, wondered why grip was crap on the bends...

I have 225/50/16 on the rear, what is the max that wheel can take? i.e. can I put 235 on the wheel?

also as for the size thing i'm under the impression you can go 10mm either way but is recommended to stay with the size for that rim, but you may want to get that confirmed.

cheers mate. It says I can have a difference of 2.5% and if I go from 225 to 235 the difference is 1.58% so should be ok...???

try essex tyres, that where i got my Falken from just off the A127

As for size 225vs235 on the back is all to do with the sidewall and RC of the tyre. wright this is wear you all full asleep

225/50R16 the 50 is not a size it mean's 50%. So the sidewall is 50% of the width (225) and on the back you want to keep the RC as close to std as poss for the speedo. EX 225/50R16 has the same RC as 225/45R17 if you go on a tyre site you may find RC size's. hope this help's

I've just taken delivery (today) of four new Toyo Proxes T1R's from Rochford Tyres (01702 545689 ext 1 - ask for Mike). Good price, relatively speedy delivery and good customer service. They're based in Essex. If you're quick you can still get two Toyo Proxes T1S's for the fronts - they've only got two left and they're going for around £75 each which is a steal!
