Just an idea, but what about a meet at Silverstone circuit?

 

The F1 teams are testing, on the following dates, there is no guarantee of who will be there but a mate went a couple of years ago and ended up sitting in a Ferrari and chatting with David Couthard amongst others!

 

Wanted to gauge interest, the dates are:

 

April 16, 17, 18, 30

May 1, 28, 29, 30

August 20, 21, 22

September 3, 4, 5, 17, 18, 19

October 1, 2, 3

 

Not a central venue but not too bad

mmmmmm - Sounds interesting. More then likely will go at the back end of April or beginning of May. August and onwards is a bad time as the Mrs is going be pushing out my Z apprentice.

 

Does it cost anything?

If there is a charge it cant be much cos there is no gaurentee that you will see anything.

I used to go to these quite frequently, its very good for meeting the drivrs and taking good pictures of the cars (since there aren't 100,000 people standing in the way).

 

I haven't been lately since I think you have to pay to get in now (and its not that cheap). I could be wrong but its worth checking up on.

 

Its worth going to the ones nearest the British GP as they have the most teams. I once went to one in April and there was only Williams there. I then went to another one (May/June) and there were 10 teams there. Silverstone normally know in advance who is coming so you can ask them on the phone (although it almost always changes). I have previously got pitlane access, met the drivers, even had some pictures published in Autosport that I have taken on days like these. I think its harder to get into the pits now though, unless someone was to organise something. I would be up for it anyway.
