Hey there

I have a Auto TT. When ever I accelerate hard the 'power' light illuminates and just stays on until you turn off or change the gearbox setting. Surely the lights is meant to go off by itself after a few secs or mins??

ANy help

Nope. If it is in Normal mode and then I really put foot, the power light comes on and stays on. Is this normal. Sorry but I am a new owner and not too clued up.

Thanks for the help

Thought it would but it doesnt. Any idea what could be causing this and how to fix it??

Anyway to fix it or think I just forget about it?

wouldnt be TPS problem would it cos surely the car would keep going even with throttle off! would it be worth doing an autobox diagnostic?

How would I do an autobox diagnostic?

MAy also be a good idea to try and see whats up with my Overdrive. When its switched off and my foot is off the throttle it seems to be slipping up and down a gear. Like someone is holding me back and then letting go and so forth. Very weird indeed!!

Might be worth checking the kickdown switch is working ok, If you floor the accelerator with the ignition on but the engine off, the pedal will press a switch on the floor which operates the kickdown, if this is stuck down i think it will give you problems when its trying to get into top gear.

Not 100% sure on this but worth a quick check.
