Hicas?

Hello all, I picked up my z last night with no manuals whatso ever thus i have a few questions 1. What is Hicas and should the light for it come on and off? 2. How do i get the stereo out (im bored of radio two now!) 3. Do you drive an auto with overdrive on or off for normal driving?

hi!!

welcome to the forum

answers toyour questions:

HICAS - High Capacity Actively Controlled Suspension its nissans way to say 4 wheel steering.

if the light goes on and off check the power steering fluid as i have heard the hicas light also comes up when you are low on power steering fluid.

don't know which radio you got but i usually use a claw hammer! LOL :-)

i usually drive the auto round with overdrive off until and unless i hit a motorway or something.

Stereo - spent about half a day figuring this out.

There's four screws holding the central facia on. Two are at the top left and right hidden by the covers; these should pop out but be careful - I broke mine. The other two are hidden behind a strip across the full width of the facia about half way up it. Undo these four screws, move the central facia panel and you have full access to the stereo/s.

Then it's a case of undo screw, lose screw down hole. Attempt to recover screw. Put plaster over knuckles to replace lost skin. Use magnetic screwdriver to try to recover screw. Use pliers to try to recover screwdriver. And so on.
