Sorry to hijack but I was under the impression cruise control was standard on all zx's but mine doesn't seem to have it

TBH I thought it was 30mph, only ever had mine working around 70mph :D

Nope, it was an option.

From what I understand on a UK car the Cruise control can be used from 30mph and it was standard on the TT but an option on the N/A. I am sure somebody will know for sure.

My zed is a 1990 JDM Manual TT and it doesn't have cruise control.

Not forgetting that J-spec cruise control only works up to 60Mph as standard, rubbish for motorways, but great if your running an engine in!

Mine is j spec and I have had cruise working at 80...!!!!

If you have a MPH convertor it will work to around 110mph (as the Cruise control ecu still things its in KPH)

You've got a 3.0 litre twin turbo, why would you want to use cruise control? I checked mine was working when I bought it and haven't felt the inclination since

All cruise control should only work over 40 or 50 MPH, not sure in KPH but as a mechanic most cars and inports work at them speeds only, if they work at a higher speed then maybe there is a vacum pipe with a split or crack somewhere, very easy to test, discornect and blow down the pipe and listern to where u hear the air comes out. if solid then no fault there, would be control pump faulty!!!!!

I couldn't live without my cruise control on motorways, it's a must have for me
But would that not make it work at slower speeds as well??

Stock jspec cruise works 48 kph to 105 kph

When you have a KPH-->MPH Convertor this will become 48mph to 105mph

Fair enough Glenn, each to their own, to me though it feels just too remote to just sit there doing nothing with my feet, now maybe if it worked at 130+ (and of course it was legal :-) ) I could have enough stimulus to keep me occupied! Maybe I should try sky diving :-)

I've use it, on long motorway runs at night, when you just want to sit back and chill listening to music, set at 80mph for 1.5 hours and return 32mpg :D

Please burn me a copy of your CD collection Legrath, in fact just let me know what you listen to and I can buy it with the money I save on fuel

  • 2 weeks later...

On an import it only starts to work at 48kmh (ie 30mph, as is the case with most UK cars), but with the speedo converter it see mph as kmh and only starts at 48mph which is annoying, it would appear that it can be modified, http://www.aus300zx.com/tech/ascd.htm

but they don’t give the science behind the change, and only focus in upping the top limit.

I suspect that by changing out the resistors you can also lower the start point, but without some more info it would be guesswork.

I Put In The Kph --> Mph Converter And It Wiped Everything Out Kicked In At 30mph And Went As High As 100mph.

I've had my cruise control working at 30mph, right up to 100mph. what's the upper limit?
