Am i hering things?

I'm only new to driving a z but i swear that every time i take it to around 110, 120ish k's i can hear a dong, dong kind of noise (like if you leave the lights on and open the door). No warning lights come up on the dash just this weird noise. Is there a simple explanation for this or should i get down the doctors?

Also somebody ppllleeeaaassseee tell me how to get the stereo out or even better where to get a owners manual

hey m8

i think you will find the technical term is called a "bing bong". its a speed warning indicator. you can have it removed or remove it yourself.

I see, thanks. It must be that these japs have such small slitty eyes that they mat not see the speedo let alone the road bollocking past them that they need a bloody bell to ring aswell. This car sure is full of surprises!

LOL, good one m8. like that!!

Hehehehehe.

Stereo:

On the centre console above the air vents there are 2 small covers, on the top corners. Take them off and the screws undreneath.

Now I think there are just clips down the side and at the bottom of the console, get a small screwdriver and put it underneath the console and leaver it out. Then the panel should come off. There radio is there for the plucking

Hiya!

As you have the stereo part covered quite well I'll just concern myself with the "Bing Bong" bit wink.gif

It would seem that you are driving a Jap spec (i.e., import) ZX that has been derestricted, i.e., the 112mph limiter removed. If it was restricted this "Bing Bong" noise would occur at roughly 62mph and drive you absolutely balmy. However, since it was derestricted this audio warning has been moved to roughly 112mph - a speed deemed high enough for most people not to reach it on a regular basis (yeah, right!!) If this still drives you mad turn up your stereo wink.gif

So there you have it mate.

Cheers,

Danny

Edit: Hmmmm ... might have read your original post wrong. You mean it Bongs at 110 kilometers per hour? If so then this equates to 62-70mph and it means your car isn't derestricted and the rest of my story still holds true. If you want your car derestricted give me a buzz on the e-mail and we'll sort you out. Danny
