Does spraying the hotwire in the MAF with alcohol or carb cleaner actually make a difference?

Anyone done it and noticed more power?

If you remove the gause from the ends then use disc brake cleaner on a soft brush. You don't need the gause as the filter will stop any particals bigger than the gause size, but once the gause is off give the MAF a clean once a month.

You will notice a difference.

I will be if you use a tooth brush. I'm talking artists paint brush and Disc brake cleaner has no lubricants in it, (for obvious reasons) where as Carb cleaner has lubricants and would leave a film that will collect dirt and dust.

I'm not saying it won't work, but it will start to collect crap again very quickly.

My wifes TRD (pictured on my rides) has to have the MAF cleaned every 4 weeks and you can really feel a big difference each time if you drive it before and then after.

mmm ok i have a paintbrush, so carb cleaner and disk brake cleaner are different then!

I'll have to get some disk braker cleaner.

I suppose you dont want a lubricant on the surface of your disk do you!
