im sure the gear box has a sensor on it that changes the steering at speeds, sounds like yours is either not connected or faulty, sorry dont have the details on where to find it mate but a real mecahic will be along shortly

Sounds like the speed sensor to me as well......... ;)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

If you swapped the box' did you swap sensors?-I beleive manwell and auto are different. ;)

a did a auto/man conversion . all there is on the man box is speedo drive and reverse switch , so the power steering must take its info from the speedo drive ?

Yup!-that's the speed sensor!-but did you leave the manual speedo drive in the box?-As I said I'm sure they are different.
